Unity Power Solutions engineer on site

Rigorous, specialist power-quality engineering

Established in 2017 and based in Johannesburg, Unity Power Solutions was founded to bring specialist power-quality engineering to the South African market — one discipline, solved exceptionally well.

Our focus

One discipline. Solved exceptionally well.

We improve electrical power quality, energy performance and network reliability across modern industrial and commercial facilities.

Our team has delivered assessments, correction systems and switchgear to manufacturers, food and beverage producers, water utilities, pharmaceutical sites, retail property and renewable-energy installations. That breadth means we recognise problems quickly and specify solutions that hold up under real, fluctuating industrial load.

Experience & capability

Built for modern, non-linear loads

As technology has moved on from capacitor-only correction, so have we. Today's facilities operate high densities of non-linear loads — variable-speed drives, welding plant, induction furnaces and inverter-based generation — that frequently exceed the capabilities of conventional capacitor-only correction systems.

We deploy modern, responsive technology built for exactly these conditions: static var generators, active harmonic filters and hybrid systems engineered to the measured site.

Engineering philosophy

Measure, correct, verify

Record the network against standards, engineer the correction to the measured condition, then prove the outcome on the same instruments. No assumptions carried forward, no unverified claims handed over.

1

Assess

On-site recording and analysis of supply quality against NRS 048-2, IEC 61000 and IEEE 519.

2

Engineer

Solutions sized to the measured load profile, harmonic spectrum and network conditions.

3

Implement

Supply, assembly and commissioning of correction, filtering and switchgear systems.

4

Verify & Support

Post-installation verification, monitoring, operator training and ongoing maintenance.

Market position

Independent by design

We work both directly with end users and as the specialist power-quality partner to other engineering consultancies, contractors and renewable-energy developers across the region.

Impartiality is central to how we operate. Because we work with leading global manufacturers, technology is selected to fit the problem — chosen on site conditions, lifecycle value, reliability and return on investment rather than product preference. The client's outcome leads the specification.

What we value

Professional values

  • Evidence over assumption — every recommendation follows recorded site conditions.
  • Independence — advice free of single-product bias.
  • Engineering discipline — recognised standards and safe working practice on every project.
  • Accountability — outcomes verified on independent instruments and documented at handover.
  • Long-term partnership — support that continues well beyond commissioning.
Our commitment

Quality, reliability and relationships that last

Our involvement does not end at commissioning. Operator training, periodic maintenance and continuous support keep systems performing as networks and loads change — protecting the investment and the result over the full life of the installation. A standing commitment to continuous professional development, standards compliance and best-practice engineering keeps our team, methods and instrumentation aligned with evolving networks and regulations.

Let's talk

Bring us your toughest power-quality problem.

From a single substation to a plant-wide harmonic study, we start by measuring — then engineer the correction to what we find.
